The "RS Turbo" debut in 1987, equipped with a 4 cylinder CVH 1.6 liter turbocharged Garrett T3 and intercooler from 133 cv. Available only in the 3-door version and very sporting (lowered position, front spoiler, dual rear wing, alloy wheels specifications, air intakes dynamics on the bonnet, strips sill codolini, wheel arch front fog, circular, front seats Recaro), had a good success, also due to an innovative solution for the 'era to counteract definitively the understeer (already little marked by its neutral behavior on the road): Front axle assembled a differential viscous Ferguson Limited slip. Thus , the two volumes and medium was impressed in the history of the car as the first Ford turbocharged in Europe and the first car of the segment to fit a limited slip differential to the front.
