Description
Bella Alfetta GT 1.6 from 1979 black plates TORINO, documents to pass, revision valid until 2021
Restoration started in May 2018, complete disassembly and overhaul of front calipers, with aeronautical braid hoses, disassembly and complete overhaul of rear calipers. Front discs replaced, rear discs ok, brake servo checked, bleeding from a gasket and thinning the 4 cylinder.
Verified coil and alternator in the standard, battery replaced with a similar 52 Ah. Check the pins / rotor and spark plug cable resistances. Replace NGK candles with three tips. After removing the camshafts and putting the engine back in phase (it was slightly out of phase) using a more powerful 10--BLOCKED--001 intake cam (with 9.6 lift), double check the spark gap advance.
Replace the shims under the tappet glasses for game recording. Check the compressions, all around 10 Bar. Completely overhauled Weber 40DCOE 106/107 carburetors including replacement of the throttle shaft bearings with similar modern seals (something that nobody does unless you explicitly ask for it). Everything is hardened, including floating levels.
Replaced fuel filter and checked correct pump pressures around 0.3 bar, disassembled tank, checked inside, treated outside with sanding, epoxy primer and paint, replaced float and 8mm flexible hose. New radiator fluid and new cap.
In the underbody we have also replaced the exhaust terminal with original part, and replaced the gearbox supports. Change the oil using 3 liters of castrol Syntrax Universal pro 75W90, very efficient. However, like many others, Alfetta the second needs to climb from the third with a double.
The light switch was completely replaced with the original part, the wooden steering wheel was disassembled, sanded, the small grooved grooves, repainted including transparent. The three buttons have been restored and now both aesthetically and functionally perfect. The dashboard lacks the usual upper cracks. Other interiors were the replacement of the door seals and the excellent restoration of the beige Texalfa leatherette part of all the front and rear seats. Some sound-absorbing panels under the upholstery have been replaced. Replaced the tailgate shock absorber.
The car bodywork was repainted with Blue Pervinca practically in its entirety, in particular the two sides were sanded almost as a sheet for a definitive job, finding only a few rust spots near the rear left window, also remedied before painting. The engine hood was literally brought to sheet. However, other parts were sanded to reduce the filler and repainted consistently with the rest of the work. In the front passenger bottom we made a piece of sheet metal respecting the drain hole.
Aesthetically on the outside, both the front and rear Alfa Romeo logos were replaced with parts of the warehouse consistent with the model and the era, a rear gemstone was replaced by the stops and both gems of the front arrows were replaced, the wiper arms were replaced.
Now the car has all four headlights (low / high beam) single brand, complete series Carello.
The price is in line with the value of the model, the time spent on the restoration and the investment made to bring it to its current state. He looks great and goes very well on the road
The car is still not perfect (assuming the specimens on sale at 20 thousand euros are perfect), but I can safely say that I have taken on the bulk of the work. I don't sell due to lack of space, I'm in no hurry to monetize. It served me for marriage, now I want to move on to something else. Low price. First contact via whatsapp, I work all day. Thank you
