This engine was prepared to be installed on a prototype
1998 cc; 4 cylinders / 4 valves (STR 4 DOHC)
Stroke 85.00 mm / bore 86.50 mm
Completely overhauled with crankshaft, bushings, Tilton oil pump and new dry sump cup. And mast, connecting rods, pistons, block, cylinder head, low cup and cams are BMW Motorsport 320is superturismo. Aluminum flywheel for 5.5 "clutch.
Aluminum tappet cover. Elettronica Marelli Weber to program.
Never started after the overhaul, still to be run in.
The S42 is derived from the M42 engine fitted as standard on the 318is, modified and prepared by BMW for the 320is E36 Superturismo.
