The alpha Romeo Giulietta < span style='--BLOCKED--; a motorcar had produced since 1977 to 1985 from the alpha Romeo near him establishment of Arese. It takes back the name from the forerunner and homonym Juliet of the fifties
The new Juliet didn't have an easy assignment, must replace a very beloved motorcar, the Julia, using a mechanics existing gi (that of the Alfetta) and avoiding to commercially overlap to others you model in list. Besides studied in the following years to the crisis oil, the whole project was stamped at the most saving. From these premises it was strongly born a derision to 3 volumes from the sketch to wedge, with frontal low and tall and short tail (you/he/she was defined "a to sit of duck "). Flatcar, motors and mechanics were the same of the Alfetta.
During his/her debut the Juliet (November 1977) was available in two versions, that differed among them for the capacity of the motor (4 you roll bialbero) and for the inside preparation. To the base it placed her/it "1 .3 ", moved by a motor of 1357 cms by 95 CVs, while to the top of the range (also for endowments) placed her/it "1 .6 ", with motor of 1570 cms from 109 CVs. To the inside it detached, modern and functional, the bridge, while to the outside the were found characteristic integral bumpers in metal painted of grey dark color (they lost the aspect of the metal without having the advantages of weight and cost of the plastics). In 1979 the range him arricch of the version "1 .8 " with motor of 1779 cms from 122 CVs and superior endowment to the "1 .6 ". In the 1980 arriv her "2 .0 Super", endowed with motor 2 liters 1962 cms from 130 CVs and characterized by a special preparation: painting color mink metallizzato with strip gold, looks for in league.
