MERCEDES SL R129 WITH ORIGINAL HARDTOP

The SL R129 is still considered by many to be the best of the SL series produced so far. Its Bruno Sacco design is combined with very sophisticated engineering, extensive electronics and advanced safety systems.

Innovations include the automatically deployable roll bar, which rises in a fraction of a second in the event of rollover, and the electro-hydraulically operated soft top, which folds into a dedicated rear compartment. Safety equipment also includes ASR traction control, managed together with ABS, which first lightly brakes the spinning wheel and then reduces engine power. Also notable are the magnesium-frame seats, equipped with seatbelts integrated into the seat structure.

The car offered, in beautiful turquoise green, was produced in July 1994 and therefore belongs to the second series. It was first registered in Nuremberg, where it remained until late 1996, as documented by the service carried out at 23,836 km. It was then imported into San Marino and subsequently, in August 1997, into Italy at Coriano (RN).

Now over thirty years old and eligible for the relevant legal benefits, the car is still in very good condition and is supplied with its original hardtop. We carried out a service and general inspection in our workshop; periodic inspection was valid until April 2024. The 3,199 cc six-cylinder engine, producing 231 hp and paired with an automatic gearbox, makes driving pleasant and smooth. A car destined to become a benchmark among future classics, enjoyable to use while also being an investment for the future.
