1965 SUNBEAM TIGER ROADSTER. LIGHT BLUE WITH BLACK TRIM. STANDARD WHEELS WITH HUBCAPS. 4-SPEED. ORIGINAL 260 V-8 ENGINE. HARDTOP. HIGHLY ORIGINAL. 85K ORIGINAL MILES, 2-OWNER, CALIFORNIA CAR. BLACK/YELLOW LICENSE PLATE.
Offered for sale, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this highly original two-owner Tiger. This car was just purchased from the the second owner's family from 1969. It is a California car from new and still retains it's original license plate. This car has never been altered or modified and still retains it's original 260 engine (which turns nicely by hand), 4-speed gearbox, original light blue paint (now sanded down a bit), original top and interior trim, and original wheels. It's the perfect car for a high-end Concours restoration, having never been molested and is largely untouched.
The body on this car is very straight with nice door and hood fit. The trunk lid has had some rust repairs on the rear lip and the fit needs some fine tuning. The car is overall very solid for a Tiger, with some small localized areas of corrosion from sitting, which mostly are pictured. The undercarriage appears very dry and solid with it's original undercoating still intact. Any points of rust are pointed out, but the car is very solid overall.
The interior trim is highly original including what's left of the original top. The car includes the bumper set and some additional items as pictured. There are 3 additional carburetors included. The hardtop is an aftermarket item.
The car as was running and driving OK when parked, according to the selling family. It may take very little to get the car back on the road again.
Overall, this highly original California Sunbeam Tiger is a new discovery and is the perfect candidate for a straightforward restoration.
