The Unimog (from the German "UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät", that is "universal motor vehicle") is a range of off-road trucks from Daimler-Benz, produced starting from the 50's and originally used as tractors for the cultivation of turnips. The Unimogs have a considerable height from the ground (more than 40 cm), made possible by the use of portal axles, which allow the axles and the transmission to be higher than the center of the wheel. They are also equipped with a flexible frame that allows the wheels large vertical movements which, together with the helical spring suspensions, allow the Unimog to comfortably face every type of terrain, even the most uneven, with obstacles over a meter and slopes impossible for the others.
