The EPOPEA of small GT could rightly be subtitled: "run dreaming Ferrari". It is not even a way of saying, because some gentleman-drivers who competed with the Abarth GTs then moved on to the Prancing Horse cars. With these cars Abarth manages to reach high levels both in terms of style refinement and performance. The development of this GT is due to the development of a twin-engine engine designed by the designer Gioachino Colombo already known for links with other major brands. It remains the rule of Carlo Abarth to avoid distortions and the adoption of the new head allows in fact to keep the standard base that to reach the capacity of 1000 cc is worked internally starting from the oil passages, the position of the rods etc. The original bases, like the one mounted on this "Compasso d'Oro", are marked in the fusion by the acronym AH. The version used for the Monza records reaches 75 hp at 7500 rpm. The 1000 Bialbero is the culmination of the evolution of the Zagato design for the Abarths. It is included in the list in 1960, when the boosted engine (called "the Holy Gral") is mounted on a series of Monza Records with modified body by Ercole Spada, just arrived at the Zagato. In 1961 with this version he won the prestigious design award "Compasso d'oro" with this motivation: "For the excellent quality of the design, the unscrupulousness of the solutions adopted and the intelligence of every detail". The proposed vehicle mounts replica rims in aluminum (more reliable than those in magnesium). For the rest is in order in all details and has received a conservative restoration, with engine overhauled with 1000 km assets. Maintains the additional front radiator which had been fitted by the previous owner for road use and which avoids overheating even in summer. This change was also envisaged at the time by Abarth and was therefore maintained. All this, allows a ready use, in safety, preserving the spirit of these Gran Turismo da Corsa, made by the "Wizard".
